The Offshoot series involves a departure for me by experimenting with a different kind of mark making. These paintings are inspired by observing the structural components and patterns in nature, such as branches, seaweed, corals, the human circulatory system, seeds sprouting roots and the spinoff of tributaries from rivers. In these works, I am constantly thinking of all the interconnected ways these patterns appear in our lives.
